District League Cross Country – STAGS

Well done to all of the runners who ran at STAGS on Thursday 23rd September. As well as runners from years 8 to 11 there were also a number of year 7 runners making their debut in the District League.
The teams not only had excellent numbers running but also good team and individual performances:

Junior boys cross country

On Thursday 16th the year 8 boys had their first district league cross country fixture at Townsend school. The race was about 3k long and our team consisted of Marius, Ed and Gulio. Although we didn't have a full team we could still get points for ourselves. We did extremely well with Marius coming 5th, Ed coming 15th and Gulio coming 22nd. I though that the runner of the team was Gulio beacause itv was his first time competing in cross country for Beaumont and he came 22nd, which was fantastic.

Sandringham Fun Run

On Monday 20th September 37 year 7 pupils ran in the Sandringham Fun. They had been selected to run based on their performances in the Inter Form fun run on the first Wednesday of term.
The top 6 girl and boy runners scored for the Beaumont teams and in both the boys and girls competitions we finished 3rd. Individually there were some excellent performances with Olivia Almond 5th in the girls race, Tom Hails 6th in the boys race and Jacob Bockenhauer became our first District Champion of the Year, winning the boys race. Well done to Jacob who, along with several other runners, will be invited to run in the Year 7 & 8 combined District League teams for the rest of the season.
Congratulations to all the pupils who ran and were a credit to Beaumont, and thank you to Chris Hilton from year 11 who, as one of our most successful senior runners, came along and helped warm up both teams.
